May 2025
Flexera One introduced the following new features and enhancements this month.
Automation
Automation released the following enhancement in May 2025.
Flexera Automation Expiring Credentials policy
This enhancement is available with Automation.
Credentials provide a centralized method to provide users access to external systems, such as cloud providers. The Flexera Automation Expiring Credentials policy has been introduced to monitor these credentials and notify relevant users before they expire or after they have already expired.
Users now receive email notifications based on the policy schedule, containing details of credentials that have 60 days remaining until expiration or have already expired, helping ensure the smooth execution of the automation policies without any disruptions.
Based on the policy schedule setup, the frequency of these notifications may change. For more information, see Policy Schedule.
This enhancement improves policy management by ensuring credentials are rotated on time, reducing the risk of unauthorized access.
User credentials on the Automation Credentials page (Automation > Credentials) are also flagged when they were nearing expiration or have already expired. For more information, see Managing Credentials.
For more information about the policy, see Flexera Automation Expiring Credentials.
Cloud Cost Optimization
Cloud Cost Optimization released the following features in May 2025.
Azure adjustment credits now available to all customers
This feature is available with Cloud Cost Optimization.
You can now view your adjustment credits to better understand your cloud usage and spend. This feature enables you to access information related to adjustment credits, such as bill corrections, promotional credits, Reserved Instance (RI) exchange credits, and so on. This data is sourced from the Azure Balances API. For more information, see Microsoft documentation on Azure Balances API.
You can view the adjustment data categorized under AdjustmentCredit in the cloud dashboards (Dashboards > Cloud) and Tabular View (Cloud > Cost Optimization > Tabular View). To filter this data, use the Line Item Type dimension. The Description dimension provides a detailed description of the each adjustment.
Previously, the Description dimension was referred to as Credit Description.
Previously, this feature was available only to a few customers during the beta release.
For more information about Adjustment Credits, see Adjustment Credits in the Flexera One Help.
Improved visibility into AWS Savings Plans
This feature is available with Cloud Cost Optimization.
Flexera One provides enhanced visibility into AWS Savings Plans purchased by linked accounts through data ingestion using the AWS API. Using this feature, customers can now view usage and optimization details at a granular level, specifically for linked accounts. For more information, see AWS documentation on GetSavingsPlansUtilizationDetails API.
Previously, this information was not available for linked accounts.
For more information, see Viewing AWS Savings Plans in the Flexera One Help.
Cloud License Management
Cloud License Management released the following enhancement in May 2025.
New Support for Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA)
This enhancement is available with Cloud License Management.
Flexera One Cloud License Management now provides comprehensive visibility into software spend and usage under Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA) 2.0. MCA is a modern licensing agreement that simplifies how customers purchase Microsoft products and services, including Azure. It replaces older agreements like the Microsoft Enterprise Agreement (EA), Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP), and Microsoft Open License programs for many customers.
This enhancement ensures consistent visibility across Azure EA, MCA, and AWS.
For details about how to add a cloud bill connect, see Bill Data Connections in the Flexera One Help.
IT Asset Management
IT Asset Management released the following features and enhancements in May 2025.
Changes to supported operating systems and compatibility with other products
This enhancement is available with IT Asset Management.
The following operating system versions have been added to the list of supported operating systems on FlexNet Inventory Agent:
-
Fedora 42
-
Ubuntu 25.04
The following product versions have been added to the compatibility list of IT Asset Management with other products:
-
CyberArk 14.4
-
IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT) or HCL BigFix Inventory on Microsoft SQL Server 9.2.39
For the full lists, see Prerequisite Software and Compatibility with Other Products in System Requirements and Compatibility.
SWIDTAG Evidence can now be obtained from the IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT)
This enhancement is available with IT Asset Management.
Starting with this release, the IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT) on IBM DB2 and the ILMT SQL Reader have been updated to allow IT Asset Management to collect SWIDTAG evidence directly from ILMT. This enhancement helps resolve discrepancies in application recognition in IT Asset Management when compared with HCL BigFix Inventory.
Two key changes support the creation of SWIDTAG based file evidence and installer evidence in IT Asset Management:
-
For file evidence, data will be retrieved from the
isotag_facts_scdandagt_vm_reltables. -
For installer evidence, the
[sam].isotagstable will be queried to obtain values for the Display Name, Version, and Publisher properties.
SWIDTAG file and installer evidence gathered from the ILMT will be visible in the File Evidence and Installer Evidence tabs on the All Evidence page, which lists all file and installation data detected across your environment and included in the Application Recognition Library.
IT Visibility
IT Visibility released the following features and enhancements in May 2025.
Improvements to out-of-the-box and custom reports based on customer feedback
This enhancement is available with IT Visibility With Technology Intelligence Platform.
Flexera has systematically analyzed and prioritized customer feedback. With this release, we are introducing key improvements identified from customer feedback to both out-of-the-box and custom reports. These updates address usability concerns, add requested features, resolve reported issues, and optimize overall performance.
Improvements with this release include the following:
- Search filters are no longer case sensitive. Removing case sensitivity from the search filters, including Contextualization fields, makes it easier for users to find relevant data without worrying about capitalization and improves consistency across reports.
To take advantage of the search filter changes for Contextualization fields, you must re-upload your Contextualization data.
-
For custom reports based on the Hardware Portfolio Overview and Software Portfolio Overview reports, a Mass Filter has been added to the Visualizations pane. The Mass Filter allows you to apply bulk filtering based on a list of field values. You can copy a list of field values from any external source (for example, Excel, CSV, or plain text file), and paste it in the input box. All values included in the Mass Filter are applied at once to filter the report. Using this filter, you can reduce manual effort and accelerate insights, especially when working with large datasets or performing comparative analysis.
noteSee Using the Mass Filter With the Hardware Portfolio Overview and Software Portfolio Overview Reports in the Flexera One Help Library for more information about applying the Mass Filter visualization to the data in a report.
-
In the Comprehensive Hardware Inventory and Hardware Portfolio reports, the Cloud Inventory report page has been renamed to Cloud Inventory - Beta. A tooltip on that report page provides more information about current limitations and configuration requirements as well as future plans.
For more information about reporting in IT Visibility with Technology Intelligence Platform, see IT Visibility With Technology Intelligence Platform Reports in the Flexera One Help Library.
Partner Service Layer
Partner Service Layer released the following features and enhancements in May 2025.
Enhanced access control for cloud spend data
This enhancement is available with Partner Service Layer.
To provide more secure and granular control over cloud spend data of your child organization, the following enhancements have been made:
-
Capability-based access —If a child organization does not have the Cloud Cost Optimization capability, only the details about the child organization such as the customer name, organization ID, capabilities, created and last updated dates, and owners display. The cloud spend data is not shown.
-
Role-based access —Users without the Manage cloud or Manage organization role cannot access the cloud spend data of the child organization, ensuring that spend data is only accessible to authorized users.
-
Zero spend when no data is available —If no cloud spend data is available for a child organization that has the Cloud Cost Optimization capability, the total spend now displays as $0, indicating the absence of data.
For more information, see Viewing Child Organization Details in the Flexera One Help.
Access Customer button added to child organization details
This enhancement is available with Partner Service Layer.
The page showing a child organization’s details has been enhanced with the addition of the Access Customer button. This button enables you to easily access and navigate to the child organization directly from this page, and it is only visible for users that already have access to the child organization.
For more information, see Viewing Child Organization Details in the Flexera One Help.
Inventory beacons health now available for partners
This feature is available with Partner Service Layer.
An inventory beacon is a computer located within your customer’s organization that collects software inventory data specified by the customer, and uploads it to Flexera One. The Total Beacons column has now been added to the table on the Customers Overview page, displaying the total number of beacons configured for each customer.
This feature provides partners with comprehensive visibility into their customers' IT environments through the Technology Intelligence (TI) Platform. By ensuring accurate and timely data collection from all devices within the customer landscape, partners can:
-
Centralize Management—Access a unified view of beacon configurations and statuses across all customers.
-
Proactively Address Issues—Stay up-to-date with beacon health information, enabling swift action to mitigate any issues identified.
-
Deliver Trusted Services—Maintain compliance and ensure data integrity for all managed customers.
For more information, see Viewing Beacon Details in the Flexera One Help.
Customer linking provides partners and MSPs with traceability and visibility
This feature is available with Partner Service Layer.
With this feature, all customer organizations that are managed by a partner or Managed Service Provider (MSP) are now linked as child organizations to the parent organization in Flexera One. This feature helps partners and MSPs to leverage Flexera solutions and realize the full value from both current and future capabilities in Flexera One. For more information, see Managing Child Organizations in the Flexera One Help.
If the customer owns the system and maintains the commercial relationship with Flexera, the MSP or partner cannot add, edit, or delete customer details. The Add New Customer button on the Customer Overview page does not appear, and the MSP or partner has view-only access to customer details. For more information, see Customers Overview in the Flexera One Help.
Entitlements information available from Customers Overview page for partners
This enhancement is available with Partner Service Layer.
The Customers Overview page has been enhanced with the addition of the Entitlements column, which provides a link to view details of each customer’s capabilities. This data provides partners with insights into customers’ capabilities in Flexera One and Snow Atlas.
For more information, see Viewing Child Organization Details in the Flexera One Help.
SaaS Management
SaaS Management released the following enhancement in May 2025.
ServiceNow integration enhanced to support the Washington DC release
This enhancement is available with SaaS Management.
SaaS Management has enhanced the ServiceNow integration to account for changes made in ServiceNow’s Subscription Management for the Washington DC release. This release changed some of the table that store information about subscriptions, subscribed users, and subscription applications.
If you are using the Washington DC release or later, and you use custom roles or a workaround for adding the ServiceNow integration in SaaS Management, you will need to grant read access to these additional ServiceNow tables:
-
subscription_detail
-
subscription_entitlement
-
user_has_subscription
-
subscription_has_family
These permissions must granted for the integration to continue collecting accurate subscription information.
