IT Asset Management
IT Asset Management released the following features and enhancements in April 2025.
CyberArk support for managing third party inventory adapters
This enhancement is available with IT Asset Management.
To use this enhancement, a minimum version of FlexNet Beacon 23.4.0 is required. Versions prior to 23.4.0 are not supported.
This enhancement addresses STIG compliance, allowing government customers to leverage CyberArk for credential handling across domains and to provide secure integration for third party inventory adapters in IT Asset Management.
Previously, support for CyberArk integration with IT Asset Management was limited to beacon inventory execution and Password Manager, with no provision for managing third party inventory adapters.
The FlexNet Beacon UI has been enhanced to provide configuration options for CyberArk, along with connection testing capabilities. When defining a connection to a third party inventory source, you will now have three different credential management options: CyberArk, gMSA, or Local storage.
For more information on how to enable support for CyberArk integration with inventory sources, see Managing Microsoft SQL Server Database Connections, Managing Other Database Connections, and Managing PowerShell Connections in Flexera One Help.
For information pertaining to your CyberArk integration with IT Asset Management, see CyberArk Tab in the Flexera One Help. This tab may have two different appearances, depending on whether the individual inventory beacon has detected CyberArk integration, and whether an administrator has chosen to disable the use of CyberArk from this inventory beacon.
License key management and usability enhancement
This enhancement is available with IT Asset Management.
This release introduces improved management and assignment of license keys to users and devices. A new tab called License keys, has been added to the License Properties page, where you can easily add, edit, and assign license keys. For device-based licenses, keys can be assigned to computers, while user-based licenses can be assigned to individual users.
This enhancement introduces several UI improvements that simplify license key management. Previously, customers found the Consumption tab's UI cumbersome for managing license keys for individual users or devices from the License keys column.
With the new License Keys tab, two grids are now available: License keys and License key assignments. The License keys grid displays all license keys associated with the license, with each key listed in a separate row. The License key assignments grid shows which keys from the above License keys grid are assigned to specific users or devices. This updated layout provides an easier way to view your license keys. For instance, you can use the Group By filter to select Available and view all available keys, making it simple to identify which keys are free to assign.
Additional updates include the following: the License keys field in the Consumption tab is now read-only and will only display license keys assigned to users or devices, if any. You will no longer be able to edit the key. Additionally, the import button for adding license keys from a CSV file has moved from the Consumption tab to the new License Keys tab.
Furthermore, License Key is now a reporting object in the Report Builder, enabling you to generate detailed reports on license keys and their assignments. The license key report object includes columns such as Comments, License key, Expiry date and License name. You can also link the License Key object to the License and Allocation objects for more comprehensive insights.
The License Keys tab will only appear when either the single-install or multi-install key per installation options are selected on the Identification tab.
For more information on the new License Keys tab, refer to the License Keys Tab section in the Flexera One Help. For instructions on creating custom reports in the Report Builder, see the Creating a Custom Report section in the Flexera One Help.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) adapter can detect running instances
This enhancement is available with IT Asset Management.
The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) adapter has been enhanced to enable the extraction of running instances from Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and their import into IT Asset Management. This update builds on the previous functionality for extracting Autonomous Database Instances.
In response to customer feedback, the OCI adapter has been upgraded to track running instances, typically virtual machines managed as inventory devices, within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Specifically, the instance.xml file has been updated to insert and update ImportedCloudServerInstance records. These records can now be linked to ImportedComputer entries and include the device's lifecycle status.
Running instances in OCI are visible in IT Asset Management under Cloud Service Provider Inventory.
For more information, refer to the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Adapter section in the Inventory Adapters and Connectors Reference.
Enhanced Tanium adapter to support cloud properties
This enhancement is available with IT Asset Management.
The Tanium adapter has been enhanced to support cloud properties. With this enhancement, users can bring in custom fields and usage data from Tanium, which will be normalized and made available in IT Asset Management.
To enable the Tanium adapter to correctly import cloud properties from Tanium into IT Asset Management, you need to create the Flexera Cloud view in Tanium Asset. For detailed instructions, see Creating a Flexera Cloud view within Tanium Asset in the Inventory Adapters and Connectors Reference.
Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV) VM inventory collection
This feature is available with IT Asset Management.
To use this feature, a minimum version of FlexNet Beacon 23.4.0 is required. Versions prior to 23.4.0 are not supported.
IT Asset Management now supports the discovery and inventory of Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV), allowing the identification and collection of VM-Host and Host-Cluster relationships hosted on Nutanix servers managed by Nutanix.
Nutanix provides centralized access for administrators to configure, monitor, and manage virtual environments. Nutanix AHV is a virtualization platform that powers VMs and containers for both on-premises and cloud-native workloads across private and public clouds.
Each Nutanix server operates on the Acropolis Hypervisor platform and can host multiple virtual machines, each with its own set of software installations.
Once the inventory is collected within IT Asset Management, a license compliance position can be generated for VM-Host and Host-Cluster relationships managed by Nutanix. For software inventory collection, the ndtrack component is used, and either needs to be installed locally or run remotely from the appropriate inventory beacon.
To ensure an accurate license compliance position, IT Asset Management collects both the Nutanix VM infrastructure inventory (clusters, pools, hosts) and the software inventory installed on virtual machines. The complete Nutanix VM infrastructure hierarchy is displayed on the Virtual Devices and Clusters page within IT Asset Management.
For audit purposes, customers who wish to use FlexNet inventory for sub-capacity license calculations instead of an IBM tool like ILMT (which also captures snapshots for licensing history every 30 minutes) can enable frequent scanning of all inventory VMs hosted by Nutanix. For more information on using FlexNet inventory for sub-capacity licensing calculations, see IBM High-Frequency Scanning in the Flexera One Help.
For more information on collecting Nutanix inventory, see Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV) VM Inventory in the Flexera One Help.
AI/ML recognition and automation of purchase order ingestion
This feature is available with IT Asset Management.
IT Asset Management now provides an automated, efficient and accurate method to ingest and process original purchase order documents.
This new capability enables you to efficiently and accurately understand your position in terms of licenses, entitlement and associated costs without the need for error prone time consuming manual data entry.
Selected purchase orders for Document (AI Recognition), will be automatically ingested into one or more new purchase order records, which after being processed, can be viewed from the All Purchases page. AI/ML automated purchase orders will be appended with an AI tag.
The following document formats are supported: pdf, jpg/jpeg, bmp, png.
For steps on how to upload an original purchase order document for AI/ML document ingestion, see Purchase Order Upload in the Flexera One Help.

Partner Service Layer
Partner Service Layer released the following feature in April 2025.
Enhanced Managed Service Provider (MSP) features now available in Flexera One
This feature is available with Partner Service Layer.
Flexera One has introduced new MSP-enabled features to improve how MSPs efficiently manage their customers and cloud bills through the Flexera One user interface.
Key features include:
-
Customer Management —MSPs can now manage customers directly through the Flexera One user interface, making it easy to view, create, edit, and delete their child organizations. Previously, MSPs could only manage customers using the Flexera One MSP Customer API.
-
Bill-Splitting —This powerful feature enables MSPs to define how to split a shared cloud bill among customers. Bill-splitting uses the rule-based dimensions to define how the bill is split, based on various fields from the bill such as payer ID, cloud account, or other dimensions.
-
Price Books —MSPs can now configure billing rules to manage the discounts their customers get. MSPs often receive discounts from major cloud service providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. These discounts enable the MSPs to adjust their pricing based on the contract with their customers. Typically, MSPs pass on a portion of the discount to their customers while retaining a part to cover operational costs and maintain profitability. For example, if an MSP receives a 15 percent discount from AWS, it may pass only a 10 percent discount to the customer, while retaining 5 percent to cover operational costs.
-
Aggregated Cost Visibility —MSPs can now view the total cloud spend ingested into the parent organization and filter it down to the customer spend using the rule-based dimensions created for bill-splitting. Additionally, MSPs can see the cost they are paying for cloud services and compare them with the cost their customers are paying through price book billing rules.
Changes to the Flexera One Cloud menu
The Cloud menu is updated to focus on MSP-centric use cases. Key features include:
-
Tabular View —Provides a detailed view of the cloud spend ingested into the parent organization.
-
Price Books —Enables MSPs to manage customer discount on the cloud bill.
