License Positions From FlexNet Manager and ILMT Report

The License Positions from FlexNet Manager and ILMT report compares the PVU counts imported from ILMT with IT Asset Management's calculations of consumption. IBM software asset managers may use this report to compare the consumption numbers between ILMT and IT Asset Management while they are switching over from using ILMT to using IT Asset Management for their IBM licensing.

Generating the Report​

To generate the report, perform the following steps.

To generate a License Positions from FlexNet Manager and ILMT report:

  1. Go to the ILMT and FlexNet Manager License Positions report (Reporting > Compliance Reports > ILMT and FlexNet Manager License Positions). The License Positions from FlexNet Manager and ILMT report displays.
  2. In the top-left corner is a check box labeled Only show licenses with difference s which is selected by default. This limits the report to only display licenses with different PVU counts. You may clear the Only show licenses with differences check box if you prefer to display licenses with both different and the same PVU counts.
  3. Click Run report.

Reading the Report​

The following columns (listed alphabetically) are available in this list. By default, some are available through the column chooser.

ComputerThe name of the device consuming from this IBM license. Click to open the properties of this inventory device. Editable in the Name field in the General tab of the inventory device properties (for manually-created records).
CoresThe total number of processor cores available in a physical inventory device; or the number of cores assigned to an inventory device that is a virtual machine.
DifferentDisplays Yes if the license has a different PVU counts than consumption calculations by IT Asset Management. This read only value is generated by IT Asset Management.
ILMT coresThe total number of processor cores available in a physical inventory device; or the number of cores assigned to an inventory device that is a virtual machine. This value is imported from ILMT.
ILMT pointsThe points factor applied by ILMT.
ILMT PVU countThe points value unit count imported from ILMT.
LicenseThe license name may be: Copied from the first-linked software product Derived from the License Name field of the SKU in the first-linked purchase (or if there is no SKU, from the purchase Description field) Created manually. Click to open the license properties page. The Name value is editable in the Identification tab of the license properties.
Points factorThe points factor applied to each core to arrive at the consumption value calculated by IT Asset Management.
PVU countThe points value unit count calculated by IT Asset Management.
